Richard House

Richard House was born in Cyprus. His first novel, Bruiser (Serpent’s Tail, 1997), was shortlisted for the Ferro-Grumley Gay Fiction Award in the USA. This was followed by Uninvited (Serpent’s Tail, 2001), and The Kills (Picador, 2013). The Kills was longlisted for the 2013 Man Booker Prize, shortlisted for the 2013 Green Carnation Prize and the 2014 Gordon Burn Prize, and nominated for the 2014 South Bank Sky Arts Awards.

He is a member of the Chicago-based collaborative, Haha, whose work has appeared at the New Museum, New York; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; and the Venice Biennale.

Richard’s next novel, Dishonest Days is to be published by Picador in January 2027
