David lives in Pissouri near Limassol in Cyprus.
From a farming family in Scotland, David was born in 1940. Although school-teachers constantly told his older brothers and sisters that he was very intelligent, he displayed an aversion to education at the time. He could not understand why it should matter whether 'some historic figure had died by gun or by blade?'; 'Surely the future was far more important?'. By the age of 14 he left school without any certificates, but was determined to become involved in growing potatoes, playing soccer and developing his new found interest in the opposite sex.
It took only a few months for him to realise that he was wrong, as his own age group were still in school and the older generation did not give due credit to his opinions. By falsely pre-fixing his views 'my father always said' or 'my grandfather always said', his credibility soon took an upward turn.
Throughout his career he assisted in managing one of the world's largest potato merchants; As an owner-occupier he farmed livestock and crop in his own right for twenty years. A massive change of direction took him into the life assurance industry where, in his own words 'I learned even more about the theatre of life.' Always known for his stories of life in general, impregnated with his humour, he was regularly goaded to write by his friends including his lovely Cyprus born wife Christina.
David strongly believes that the literary world has become sickened, if not in fact 'force-fed' by fiction based on the paranormal, laced in satanic, heraldic fallacy. And too many novelists are dragging the modern day reader into a 'lazy malaise' of serialisation a bit like the television soaps. David craves to write varied and interesting novels based on believable people who undergo the different shades of love and drama in a more realistic world. A London Doctor who shares his views about the over-load of paranormal, describes David's writing as 'A breath of fresh air.'
