Clifton E. Marsh

Clifton E. Marsh BA. M.A., California State University, Long Beach; Ph.D., Syracuse University is Associate Professor of Sociology at Tidewater Community College in Norfolk VA. Previously the Interim Dean of Arts and Science at Morris Brown College, Atlanta. Georgia. He is the author of four books. Including The Emancipation of 1848 and the Labor Revolt of 1878 in the Danish Virgin Island:, From Black Muslim to Muslim: from Separatism to Islam. 1930-1980 (First Edition), and From Black Muslim to Muslim: The Resurrection, Transformation, and Change of the Lost-Found Nation of Islam in America, 1930-1995 (Second Edition). The Harford County Maryland, Homeless and Shelter Survey: Housing and Shelter in a Community In Transition, 1993. Some of Dr. Marsh's research articles have been published in Phylon., the Western Journal of Black Studies, and the Journal of African Civilization.

Dr. Marsh's research interests include African American social his¬tory, domestic violence/sexual assault, homelessness and collective be¬havior/social movement. Dr. Mush has received several awards and honors, Minority Faculty Development Fellowship; Outstanding Young Men of America, National Endowment Humanities Fellowship and is included in the Bio-Bibliographical Dictionary of Black Writers of the United States.
