Glenn A. Walker

Glenn Walker received his Ph.D. in statistics from the University of Florida in 1977. As a graduate student, he was introduced to the consulting experience while working on research projects for Shands Hospital at UF. He also became self-taught in SAS, a new statistical software package at the time, and taught SAS to undergraduate students. He later worked for Abbott Laboratories in Chicago before moving to California as an independent statistical consultant for the pharmaceutical industry and others conducting clinical trials. In 25 years as a data scientist, he worked with a variety of large and small pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and countless, diverse projects giving him a vast portfolio of experience upon which to draw as a basis for his book, "Common Statistical Methods for Clinical Research with SAS Examples".

Following retirement, Glenn became more immersed in ballroom dancing and began writing about dance. He became editor of a monthly publication called "Ballroom San Diego", and later "The San Diego DanceVibes Newsletter". In the ensuing decades, he developed an unmatched ballroom music library and became a dedicated volunteer producing and DJing dance events in San Diego. His one-of-a-kind book, "Three Minutes to Heaven", which provides inspirational passages about life through the lens of ballroom dancing, first came out in 2013, with a 2nd edition published in 2023.
