Chris Bryant

During a long run as Senior Art Director for Lark Books (an imprint of Sterling Publishing, Inc.), Chris Bryant became the in-house food authority, using his knowledge of cooking and culinary trends to guide development of Lark's food titles, including the Homemade Living Series, Cake Ladies, and A Year of Pies. Chris also art-directed and styled Lark's food photography.

Now Chris is a professional food- and photo-stylist, a recipe developer and tester, and a cookbook writer. He's a member of the Southern Foodways Alliance, Slow Food USA, and Culinary Historians of Piedmont North Carolina. Chris's food blog is ExtraSlaw.com.

Chris and his husband Skip live in Asheville, North Carolina in a house filled with Chris's collection of community, regional, vintage, and "Church Lady Cookbooks."
