Sue Rowbotham

Sue Rowbotham moved to Cheltenham at the tender age of two weeks and has lived in the town ever since, so considers herself to be a Cheltonian.

Sue has published many articles and books on the history of Cheltenham, and has provided editorial and technical support to many other local writers. She has also worked as a technical author and website editor, and has advised on stage productions at the Millennium Dome and Cheltenham Playhouse. In 2006 Sue was awarded a Cheltenham Arts Council citation for her ongoing services to local history.

Sue has appeared on both television and radio, talking about her research into the life of Cheltenham-born illusionist John Nevil Maskelyne, who became one of the most famous Victorian stage magicians, and founded a dynasty of three generations of illusionists.

Sue published her first children's book, 'Baby Bubbles and the Rainbows', with illustrator Camille Medina, in May 2015.
