DR. SHARIFF ABDULLAH is an award-winning author and advocate for inclusivity and societal transformation. Shariff’s meta-vision and mission are simple: we can create a world that works for all beings.
Shariff promotes heart-centered inclusivity, compassionate dialog, and a society based on vision and a localized and alternative political economy. His vision and work are informed by his inclusive spiritual practices (which include and transcend “religion”), his growing up with racism and generational poverty, and his inclusivity experiences in over 100 distinct cultures, spanning 42 countries.
In addition to being a consultant, public speaker and thought leader, Shariff has written several paradigm-shifting books, including:
The Power of One: Authentic Leadership in Turbulent Times [New Society Publishers, 1991]. This book makes the case for a new type of leadership and a new understanding of why we need it. This slim book has been referred to as “a revolution in consciousness”, and has been in continuous print for 25 years.
Creating a World That Works for All [Berrett-Koehler Publishers, 1999]. Winner of the “Book of the Year” award from the Independent Book Publishers Association (current affairs division), this comprehensive book makes the case for a global society based on the value of inclusivity: “We are One”.
Seven Seeds for a New Society [Commonway Press, 2009]. Articulates the philosophy, theory and practice of a radically new way to envision society. Instead of systems and structures based on adversarial processes (capitalist, communist and everything in between), “Seven Seeds” posits a bold new direction: Building a global “Relational Society”, a political economy based on nonviolence, inclusivity and ecological healing.
Practicing Inclusivity (with Leslie Hamilton) [Commonway Press, 2015]. A self-guided training workbook for inclusivity, Practicing Inclusivity is used by individuals, small groups and large organizations to develop greater degrees of inclusivity and connectedness.
The Chronicles of the Upheavals [Commonway Press, 2016]. Shariff Abdullah's first work of fiction. It's 2125, and humanity has made it through the mega-crises that threatened to engulf us. We made it... but HOW? The story, told through transcripts, book excerpts, advertisements... the "chronicles" of the 21st Century... follows a group of young people as they learn how to navigate a transformed world.
The Chronicles of the Awakening [Commonway Press, 2021]. The second book in the "Chronicles" series. We've reached the 2050's, and the transformation has matured. There are several different paths and experiments in human consciousness. Humans are re-making the planet - this time FOR and WITH the Earth, as opposed to against Her. But, all of it may be undone by a (very) rogue "Artificial Intelligence", one that was not foreseen by anyone.
Practicing the 12 Steps of Inclusivity [Commonway Press, 2021]. The second workbook in the "Practicing" series, this self-guided training workbook covers some of the fundamentals of why "the Other" exists for us, and what we can do about it.
