His Mike Romano police series explores the moral dilemmas and personality of a righteous man who never sees skin color or creed and must exist in a world full of corruption. Romano interacts with a wide variety of society’s miscreants and bad guys including, pedophiles, drug dealers and gangsters of every ethnicity.

His entertaining works show sometimes-complex personalities of those who choose to be the daily guardians of our society, while fulfilling the public’s ongoing interest with police work.

DeCicco also tries to include information that the public at large is unfamiliar with, such as how to detect two way mirrors, graphically described in "Worms in the Apple."

Mike Romano's courage and obstinate determination makes for an exhilarating, sometimes action-packed tale, as he tries to follow official procedure, which is frustrating and not often easy. The reader is drawn into the psycho emotional depth of a modern day centurion. As one reviewer put it, "captured the grit and grime of what it means to be a cop"...another reader stated, "Not only is he a good cop and a good man, but he made him likable and you want to sit down and have a beer with him. He's just a regular guy who happens to be a cop."

In this novel he has his first experience with police corruption. After graduating the Police Academy, assigned to a tough command in Harlem where he learns how to be a proper police officer. As his career unfolds, Mike learns who the molester is and why he hasn't been brought to justice.

Mike has vowed to bring Dennis Bryan to justice.Mike makes a controversial arrest that brings him new information as to the extent of corruption his commander is involved in, resulting in open verbal and tactical warfare between Romano and Bryan. Mike learns the he has friends in two worlds, the Mayor's Office and the Italian Mob.

Mike balances his work and personal problems, yet he still manages to catch a bad guy or two. Follow along as he catches a church burglar and plays cat and mouse games with an old antagonist, his former Commanding Officer. Even Mike is surprised when he learns Baggs identity.Mike is surprised and shocked when he finds out who Baggs really is.

“Bulldog”, the fourth installment of the career of Mike Romano has the righteous and dedicated cop with his personal life in shambles since his divorce. After getting transferred to the dangerous world of a Narcotics Investigator, he lives only for the job, until, a series of events changes his life once more.Mike learns that he has friends both in the Mayor's Office and the Italian Mob. There are some tense moments as he hones his craft.

For romantics, Providence steps in and he meets his soul mate and shows a softer side of his complex personality.

“Connected”, is the fifth novel featuring Mike Romano. Assigned to a Brooklyn New York Detective Squad, Mike learns about his family ties and the fact that the apparently black and white world of law enforcement, is nothing but various shades of grey. He even becomes involved on the periphery of the Russian mob.

The author explains that his writings come from an inner need to share his experiences with others in a well-defined attempt to show that, “The Job”, is not a vocation but an avocation that spans all the nuances of the human spirit.
