David Runcorn

I am a speaker, writer, teacher and trainer, working in areas of personal vocational guidance, spiritual direction, prayer, Christian faith and theology.

My books circle around the connecting themes between all these topics and are a continuing exploration of what faith and human flourishing means in a world like ours.

I am a Christian, long captivated by a profound, compelling and ancient faith that now urgently seeks new ways of being present to an exciting, inquisitive and restless culture, impulsively adrift from any spiritual roots and unable to recognize its perils. I am an ordained minister in the Church of England - which has included being a vicar in London, a leader and community member of a large conference and holiday centre in North Devon, a theological college teacher, a diocesan Director of Ministry Development and, most recently, a Director of Ordained and Lay ministries.

Now formally retired I continue to write, teach and speak as the restless explorer and curious believer that I am. I used to keep chickens. Ever since I have called myself a 'free-range priest'.
