Born into a lower income family, Ernie Webb worked many jobs, including picking cotton at age eight, to help feed the family. After high school in Newhall, Calif, Ernie enlisted in the U.S. Army. Convinced there was opportunity in America for those who were willing to exercise "off and on"-- "get off your butt, and on your feet", he applied for a competitive exam for entrance into West Point, USMA. There, his beliefs in America were strengthened by the Academy motto of "Duty, Honor, Country." Ernie commanded Infantry and Armor troops from Platoon to Battalion, and served two combat tours in Vietnam. There he received the Purple Heart for wounds received in combat and five decorations for valor, including two Silver Stars. After military retirement, Ernie spent ten years as a stockbroker, and twenty years as a leadership consultant with Fortune 500 companies around the world. Ernie is concerned that our country is headed in a dangerous direction, and would welcome a return to Constitutional principles. God Bless America, and especially those who fight our countries wars.
