John Peel

John Peel grew up exploring the mountains of Colorado. He moved to Southwest Colorado in 1990, and one of the first books he bought was Hiking Trails of Southwestern Colorado, then written by Paul Pixler. John wrote the Fourth Edition of Hiking Trails of Southwestern Colorado, published in 2006. John spent 22 years as a writer and editor with the Durango Herald, and now runs his own family history research business. He lives in Durango with his wife, Judy, and dog, Buda.
