Twyla Dell

Twyla Dell is a fuel-transition historian and climate activist. Author of 8 books her latest three become more and more specific as she focuses on one of the most overlooked sources of pollution in our lives: gasoline. "There is no greater source of pollution than gasoline," she writes in her 2021 picture book GOODNIGHT GASOLINE: HOW TO WIN THE CLIMATE CHANGE CHALLENGE, "and no greater way to reduce pollution than to stop burning gasoline." This latest work dedicated to revealing the truth about the car companies, oil companies and media companies that continue to sell us obsolete oil-and-gasoline-burning cars, is an eloquent and amazingly simple story in 40 pages of gorgeous pictures. FUELING CHANGE: HOW WE CREATED CLIMATE CHANGE ONE FUEL AT A TIME reveals the change up from wood to coal to oil within a century and the rise of gasoline in the 20th century. With 143 illustrations this dynamic history shows her signature statement on each page: History is simpler that we think: It's all about fuel all the time." At no time is this more true than now as we feel the effects of burned fuel and the hard choices we must make with new ones. Her third book in this series is THE GASOLINE DIET: DRIVE LESS, LOSE POUNDS, SAVE THE PLANET. This triad of powerful texts places Dr. Dell in the forefront of scholars and advocates for alternatives to gasoline.
