Ann Uhry Abrams

Ann Uhry Abrams was born in Atlanta, went to Druid Hills High School, and attended Sarah Lawrence College and Georgia State University, at the latter receiving a B.A. and an M.A. in history. She also holds a doctorate in interdisciplinary studies from the Institute of Liberal Arts at Emory University. Between 1975 and 1995, she taught art history full-time at Spelman College, and part-time at Georgia State University, Agnes Scott College, and Emory University. In 1980-81, she was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the National Museum of American Art, Smithsonian Institution, and returned to Washington for a short-term Smithsonian research grant in 1987.
