Jon Q. Jacobs

Jon Jacobs served in the U.S. Air Force in Florida and lived the last forty years in Texas. He became a writer by the traditional path: a degree in chemistry and a career as a software developer.

From childhood Jon was fascinated with science. But for his voracious reading and grounding in the Bible, he might well have become a fairly one-dimensional personality. Thankfully, his readers will agree, Jon was guided to a life of balanced service. In addition to his work and his writing, Jon has served as a pastor and continues to serve as an in-depth Bible teacher.

Jon’s transition from chemistry to programming may have been providential. The gas-phase infrared spectrometer needed for a research project broke before he could start. He was forced to learn Fortran programming to model chemical processes instead. Those nights with punch cards paid off in a lengthy programming career that allowed him to bring the logic of software engineering to his disciplined writing style.

While Jon’s experiences are not really the traditional path, if such exists, to becoming a writer, they produced an eclectic mixture of writing interests including Bible exposition, science fiction, and Christian fiction. This blend provides for enjoyable reads in Jon’s books.
