Laura A. Hoffman

Laura Hoffman is a Chicago veteran Jazz and Blues Pianist who has

played with Jazz ensembles in the Chicago area and internationally

for the past thirty years. She started playing in groups in the

Hip Lankchain Blues Band in the late 70's, and continues writing

and performing Jazz today.She is currently playing selective engagements with

Gloria Shannon, a legendary Blues singer, and Peter Oprisko, a Jazz

singer. She maintains a teaching practice which she says is her

"laboratory" for writing piano arrangements and books.Teaching all kinds

of students enables her to keep a pulse on what's new in the music scene.

She also does workshops for piano teachers across the country and

encourages them to add Blues and Jazz into their curriculum.
