A changing Vermont is the subject of my novels, modern families living in the country or in town. I hope my books offer a realistic look at people you can get to know and care for. THE SIMPLE LIFE is about how rural life isn't as simple or as peaceful as it seems. ORDINARY MAGIC is a story of a family that grows apart and then comes together again. Relationships are what I am interested in, that and what it feels like to live in the beautiful and difficult country that is Vermont. I moved to Vermont in 1964 with my husband, Bill, when we were both 24. That was when I found what I wanted to write about.
