Peter Carnahan is a writer and theatrical director who was for 18 years Director of the Theatre and Literature Programs of The Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. He has directed more than 90 plays, and has written two books of nonfiction and four novels. His poetry and prose have appeared in The Paris Review, The North American Review, Boulevard, Tabula Rasa, The Pittsburgh Quarterly Online, U.S. 1 Worksheets, The Authors Guild Bulletin and Theatre Research in Canada. In 2006 he began writing an autobiography; the first volume was titled Opposable Lives, the second Accumulating Lives. Volume three, Watching Other People Work, is due out in 2013.
