When I started this work back in the eighties some groups would ask, "Why are we building a team? The boss is going to make all the decisions." Over time the concept of teamwork gained more traction and acceptance but it was not overnight. The same phenomenon of disbelief showed up when approaches like mindfulness meditation, work style inventories, participative decision making, or emotional intelligence were introduced. I got a lot of strange looks at first but eventually what was seen as radically new became accepted and even old hat. I expect the same pattern will play out with organizational constellations and the systemic approach that I write about in my "Shaman" book. Come take a step out of your comfort zone. It's not ever crowded outside that zone and the company you find there is always exceptional.

Here's my bio: For nearly three decades I have been helping Government, corporate and international development clients in 27 countries organize into teams, build leadership and teamwork skills and enhance organizational performance. My areas of focus are organizational development and leadership and facilitator development through training and coaching. I have designed and facilitated hundreds of high-impact off-sites and meetings to build teams and help them gain clarity and alignment on their culture and key objectives. I am excited by my cutting edge work on organizational change and systems leadership using the systemic methodologies described in my latest book, Confessions of a Corporate Shaman. I am currently offering a workshop on systems leadership for coaches and managers and look forward to giving keynotes on this topic. I also offer individual coaching sessions that profoundly enhance a person's capacity to achieve his or her objectives.
