I was a self-employed floor trader on the Pacific Stock Exchange for 14 years. In retirement I wrote two books which opened an ongoing guest spot in talk-radio across the country.

My guiding philosophy is "Use a tool lose your place". If one has to depend too much on others or the tools they provide then one loses direction and a sense of self. That doesn't mean I am anti-social. On the contrary I enjoy company and stimulating conversation. But using tools in the broadest definitions lessens the sense of self and one's place.
