Elayne Wareing Fitzpatrick

ELAYNE WAREING FITZPATRICK is an honorary member of the American Philosophical Practitioners Association, a veteran journalist and self-described 'classroom catalyst'. She earned a BA in English (1947), and an MS in Philosophy (1968) at the University of Utah and completed post-graduate studies in Modern Psychology, Moral Philosophy, and Charles Darwin at the University of Cambridge in England (1991)

She was a city desk reporter for The Salt Lake Tribune, Promotion Director for Utah's Public Television station KUED, and an Associate Professor at the University of Utah before re-rooting (1974) on a sunny acre in Carmel Valley, California. Here she built a little redwood house and barn where she's nurtured Shetland Sheepdogs, sheep, goats, chickens, and four grandchildren when she wasn't 'professing' or travelling the world to photograph and write about charming places still unspoiled by burgeoning industrial development

.

An Adjunct Professor Emeritus in Humanities and Philosophy at Monterey Peninsula College, she has also taught at the College of Southern Utah, University of Washington Friday Harbor Summer Branch (while living on a trawler yacht), and free-lanced for The Big Sur Gazette, Monterey Peninsula Herald, Guest Life Carmel Magazine, and Illustrated London News Magazine.
