Gale Leach

When Gale Leach moved to Arizona in 2004, she fell in love with pickleball. She searched for a book that would help her become a better player but couldn't find one. Gale began talking with winning players and taking notes, and she realized her technical writing training would still be useful after retirement. Her first book, The Art of Pickleball, was published in late 2005, and it won the Arizona Book Award in 2007.

This success led Gale to try fiction, a lifelong dream. In 2010 she finished her first novel, Bruce and the Road to Courage, a heroic fantasy for children. She followed that with four more books in the "Bruce and Friends" series which captured multiple awards. Gale is currently working on her new teen/YA Rift Chronicles series, which began with Book One: Disappearance.

Sidelined from pickleball because of medical issues, Gale's passion is now writing, along with singing, playing Celtic music and doing genealogy, but pickleball still lives in her heart. She lives in Texas with her husband, one dog, two cats, and a bearded dragon.
