Lara Glenum is an American poet. She is the author of four books of poetry: The Hounds of No, Maximum Gaga, Pop Corpse, and All Hopped Up On Fleshy Dumdums.

Writing about Pop Corpse, critic David B. Applegate calls Glenum’s work “a splattered fairy tale for today, a new flavor of poetic candy, and, ultimately, a pleasure to read.” The Huffington Post named Maximum Gaga as “one of the superlative books of poetry of the last ten years.”

Glenum is also the co-editor of Gurlesque: the new grrly, grotesque, burlesque poetics, an anthology of contemporary women’s poetry and visual art. Ms. Magazine heralds Gurlesque as “a daring, juicy read that bodes well for a new popular feminist poetics.”

The recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship, Glenum has also been an NEA Translation Fellowship partner. She is currently an Associate Professor of English at LSU, where she is one of the directors of Delta Mouth, a national literary festival.
