Howard Camner is the author of "The Greatest Novel Ever Written", the acclaimed autobiography "Turbulence at 67 Inches", 21 poetry books including the Pulitzer Prize nominated "Poems from the Mud Room", and the humor book / self-help guide "Happy Birthday to...Who? The Definitive No Holds Barred Father's Guide to Surviving Kids' Birthday Parties". He was a founding member of the Literary Outlaws in New York and was the featured performer with the West End Poetry Troupe. His books are in prominent literary collections worldwide including royal libraries throughout Great Britain and historical archives throughout the United States. He is a regular contributor to several publications including Poets & Artists, Taj Mahal Review and the Bristol Banner anthology series. He was named "Best Poet in Miami" in the New Times Newspaper's "Best of Miami" edition of 2007 and was inducted into the MDC Hall of Fame for Literary Arts. He was nominated for Poet Laureate of Florida in 1980 and has received many awards and accolades including the Allen Ginsberg Poetry Award, the Fine Arts Press Award, and the first annual MiPo Literary Award. Camner received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award for Literary Arts in 2018. Camner's lyrics are preserved in the ARChive of Contemporary Music and his major literary works are preserved in the Emerson Archives in Boston. 16 of Camner's poems were launched to the moon as part of the Lunar Codex Archive of Contemporary Culture / Codex Minerva (to Mons Mouton) and Codex Polaris Archives (Nobile Crater Lunar Region) - March 2025 and December 2025. Camner is co-editor of the "Sea of Tranquility: A Literary Anthology" also included in the Polaris Archives of the Lunar Codex.
