Mark Yarvis is a Principal Engineer at the Intel Corporation. Prior to joining Intel, he received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCLA. He spent nine years in Intel Labs, working on projects that include Industrial Sensor Networking, Mesh Networking, Telemedicine, Multi-Touch User Interfaces, Personalized Television, and Advanced Advertising. Mark is currently a Software Architect in Intel's PC Client Group, leading a small team to develop advanced product concepts. His recent focus areas include Personal Cloud, Remote Wake, and Personal Assistant. He has authored a book, more than two dozen technical publications, and 17 issued patents. In his spare time, Mark enjoys year-round gardening, and running. He also maintains two geocaches in Portland Oregon.
