Mark W. Oberle

Mark Oberle (1948- ) is a Professor at the University of Washington School of Public Health. He began his career as a naturalist in the US National Park Service and has studied ecology and ornithology in the American tropics for 35 years. He served as an epidemiologist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Latin America including two years as director of infectious disease control in Puerto Rico. He has published over 100 books and scientific articles in the fields of ornithology, medicine, and public health. His most recent ornithology works include: Birds of the West Indies.
