David Lee Garrison

David Lee Garrison retired from teaching Spanish and Portuguese at Wright State University (Dayton, Ohio) in 2009. His poetry, translations, reviews, and literary criticism have appeared nationwide in journals such as Connecticut Review, Denver Quarterly, Poem, and Rattle, and in several anthologies. Two poems from his book, Sweeping the Cemetery, were read by Garrison Keillor on his radio program, The Writer’s Almanac, and one appeared in Keillor’s anthology, Good Poems, American Places. The title poem from his book, Playing Bach in the DC Metro, was featured by Poet Laureate Ted Kooser on his website, American Life in Poetry. He has given workshops at various schools including Antioch University, University of Dayton, University of West Virginia, Lourdes College, and Wright State.
