Jack C. McDowell

Jack C. McDowell, business leader, philanthropist, author and public speaker, was born in Hollywood, California during the Great Depression and reared on a farm in Backus, Minnesota. For 38 years he served as The Salvation Army’s Management Counsel for the Southern US. He has led more than 100 successful capital campaigns to serve and expand the work of The Salvation Army. His experience in non-profit management and fundraising has been sought by churches, universities, synagogues, and schools across the nation.

His fifty years of marriage to Peggy Weber of Salzburg, Austria, joined two highly successful business careers as each supported and encouraged the other. Peggy’s family candle-making business was established in 1583. They split their time between Atlanta, Georgia, and Salzburg, Austria.
