Ken Moskowitz

Ken Moskowitz retired in 2015 from the U.S. Foreign Service after a 30-year career, chiefly as a public diplomacy officer for the State Department. He was assigned to Budapest, Tokyo (twice), Kyiv, and Sofia, where he started his doctoral dissertation in Theatre Arts. He received his Ph. D. from the Bulgarian National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts in 2012. He is currently the Marketing Director for The Arlington Players, a community theatre, where he has worked backstage and on set build.

In 1988, Moskowitz produced Woody Allen’s "Don’t Drink the Water" in its fictional location, Budapest, Hungary. This satire of Cold War tensions was mounted just before the Berlin Wall fell the following year.

Moskowitz holds an M.A. in Philosophy from Brown University (1982) and a B.A. in History and English Literature from Swarthmore College (1976). His articles on film, theatre, and public diplomacy have appeared in popular and academic publications.
