Richard E. Carmen

Richard E. Carmen received his Doctor of Audiology Degree from the Arizona School of Health Sciences, a division of the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He practiced audiology for 35 years and retired in Sedona, Arizona. His research topics included tinnitus, emotional aspects of hearing loss, resistance to treatment, the effects of metabolic diseases on hearing, and the personality types of audiologists. He’s written extensively in the field as a regular contributor to various hearing journals and authored, co-authored and has been a chapter contributor for several other books. He’s also been a technical/editorial advisor and board member for a number of national associations.
