About the Author:
Hi, I’m writing this so I’ll go first person singular!
I’ve been a writer for about 30 years, starting as a Knight Ridder News Correspondent, then national magazine article writer and editor, then various books, with a few film scripts and a play along the way…which they wouldn’t run Off Broadway because it was too “controversial.” It was called “Priest” if that gives you a clue!
After finishing Guido’s Love, the artist who wrote our first book review, Kurt Niece, contacted me to see if I’d like to work with him to co-author a screenplay adaptation of his wonderful novel, Breath of Rapture. We finished it this week, he was a great co-author, very astute artistically and fun to work with.
I’m working on another film script now, and after that plan to write a screenplay for the LIFE STORY section of Guido’s Love ( I see it as along the genre of the Italian film, Cinema Paradiso), and then write the screenplay for a film I’d like to shoot in Greece.
Also, you might be interested to know that Guido and I have started to gather more stories of his life for a sequel to Guido’s Love…Guido’s Love II. If readers (that means you) so request) we’ll do another book.
In our TV interviews, Guido talks about his life on the farm, in England, and in America, I talk a bit about the creative process, and then I encourage viewers to engage the POWER OF LOVE in their own lives to the greatest extent possible.
I say, “There is something very real called the POWER OF LOVE, (there is also a power of hate), and to know the power of love you do three things: Think about LOVE; Talk about LOVE; and engage in LOVING actions.
And on that note I’ll say goodbye, for now!
David
