Dr. Bessinger is a surgeon, now retired, who has written medical journal articles and editorials about philosophy, medical ethics, international health programs, and clinical practice. He has won the Roe Foundation Award for medical writing. His global perspective is shaped, in part, by diverse medical experiences in New England, Hawaii, the Philippines, Antarctica, and Haiti. His current writing interest is poetry of cosmos, and of new myths of the Quest.
