Terri Morgan

My name is Terri Morgan and I'm a bookaholic. I became addicted to reading as soon as I learned how to make sense of the characters on the pages of books in the first grade. So it was only natural for me to become a writer when I grew up; first as a journalist and later as a novelist. Writing is a perfect career for me because I've always been fascinated by people, their behavior, the human experience and what makes people do the things they do. Given my interests it's not surprising that my first novel, Playing the Genetic Lottery, which I recently re-released as The Genetic Lottery; A Novel Look at Schizophrenia, explores the impact the devastating mental illness has families.

My fascination with people has served me well during my 30 + years as a freelance writer and reporter. My articles have appeared in dozens of different newspapers and magazines, and on numerous websites. I'm also a sports fan and the author of four sports biographies for young adults. In addition, I co-wrote two photography books (I love taking pictures) and two sports biographies.

When not writing, I spend a lot of time reading, surfing, playing with my Queensland Blue Heeler, photographing my family, friends, interesting looking strangers, landscapes and wildlife, and rooting for the San Francisco Giants.
