Onas P. Matz

Onas P. Matz was born in 1917, and raised on a farm in Southern Indiana. He taught school for 3 1/2 years before enlisting in the Flying Cadet program in 1940. He was a pilot and staff officer during WWII, flying all the Air Force inventory. Onas remained active in the Air Force Reserves until retirement after 30 years. After moving to Seattle, Washington in 1951, he became a general contractor, and resided there until his passing in 2000.
