James Brown

James Brown is the author of the addiction memoirs, Apology to the Young Addict, The Los Angeles Diaries, and This River. He and Patrick O'Neil co-authored Writing Your Way to Recovery: How Stories Can Save Our Lives. Brown has also written several novels and is the recipient of the Nelson Algren Award in Short Fiction and a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in Literature.
