David Beck

David R.M. Beck grew up in Evanston, Illinois. He earned a B.A. in American Culture from Northwestern University and a Ph.D. in history from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is a professor of history at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He previously taught in the Native American Studies Department at the University of Montana and at Native American Educational Services College in Chicago, where he also served as Dean of Campus.
