Elisabeth Pollack was born in Sharon, Connecticut on March 7, 1921 and lived in Maine for more than 50 years until her death on August 29, 2012 at the age of 91.
Elisabeth, as everyone called her, was an avid outdoors woman, a farmer, writer, naturalist, canoe-er, hiker, gardener and animal lover. A great reader, Elisabeth began her writing career only at the age of 70, after many years running a big farm and apple orchard in Maine. She is the author of two books, The Rowantree Crop, 1989, and The Gathering, 1996, which are both mysteries set in Maine.
A third book, The Paris Wagon, is due to be published post-humously in 2013-2014. It is her third mystery set in the wild foothills of the White Mountains in Western Maine.
