Rose Solari

Rose Solari is the author of three full-length collections of poetry, "The Last Girl," "Orpheus in the Park," and "Difficult Weather," the one-act play, "Looking for Guenevere," and the novel, "A Secret Woman," which is currently under development for a film. Rose calls the novel her "love letter to England," a country in which she spends as much time as she can. In 2012, Rose lived in Oxford for two terms with her husband, the author James J. Patterson, while she served as a Visiting Writer with the Centre for Creative Writing at Oxford University's Kellogg College.

She has lectured and taught writing workshops at many institutions, including the University of Maryland, College Park; St. John’s College, Annapolis, Maryland; the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing at Arizona State University in Tempe; and the Centre for Creative Writing at the University of Oxford’s Kellogg College in Oxford, England. Her awards include the Randall Jarrell Poetry Prize, an EMMA award for excellence in journalism, and multiple grants.

Her current projects include performance collaborations with modern dance choreographers, and a sequel to "A Secret Woman." She lives in Bethesda, Maryland.
