Andrea Carlisle

For the past four decades, I've resided on a houseboat outside of Portland, Oregon, in the company of cats, dogs, otters, and beavers, as well as eagles, osprey, herons, hawks, cormorants, and a wide variety of songbirds. Stories, essays, poems, and articles have appeared in various literary publications over the years. I've written a collection of essays on the topic of aging because the older I get the more curious I am about this time of life. This collection, THERE WAS AN OLD WOMAN: REFLECTIONS ON THESE STRANGE, SURPRISING, SHINING YEARS, was published by OSU Press and is currently available on Amazon and in bookstores and libraries.

My two other books, THE RIVERHOUSE STORIES and A RIVER RUNS UNDER IT, are both available on Amazon.

The Lake House and The Heart of a Person If Not Filled with Flowers are listed with my books here and on Goodreads. I did not write either of them.

I attended the Writers' Workshop at the University of Iowa and taught writing for many years in Oregon.

The author illustration for Amazon is by Enkhbayar Munkh-Erdene.

NOTE: Hackers have used my name in the past to write Amazon blog posts on my Author page. Unless a blog post specifically refers to my books and my life, it was not written by me.
