She was third woman to be elected to the Alberta Legislature.She was active in international affairs, peace conferences, and in advancing the cause of public healthcare in Alberta.She also was dedicated gardener and farmer's wife at Alix, Alberta, on shores of beautiful Parlby Lake. Barbara Villy Cormack was author of many books on Albertans and Alberta history, wife of Canada WWI soldier and officer Eric Cormack, they were parents of a mentally-challenged son.
