Debby Mayer writes stories for baby boomer women. Some of those stories are true, some are completely made up. Most of them mix her experience with her imagination.
Debby's memoir, "Riptides & Solaces Unforeseen," and her novel, "Sisters," can be purchased on Amazon.
"Therapy Dogs," an excerpt from "Riptides," was awarded a grant in Creative Nonfiction from the New York Foundation for the Arts.
"Sisters" won the DeJur Award from City College in New York City, where Debby earned an M.A. in Creative Writing.
Debby has published numerous short stories, including "The Secretary," which appeared in The New Yorker and was awarded a grant in fiction from the New York Foundation for the Arts.
Debby's blog, 2becomes1: widowhood for the rest of us, is at debbymayer.blogspot.com.
These days Debby lives in San Diego, where she works on her novel, tells stories to live and virtual audiences, and is about to launch her website, debbymayer.com. Look for it! You'll find there samples of her writing, videos from her storytelling, ideas for talks, and photos current and historical.
