Pradip Chanda

Pradip Chanda is a bit of a legend in the corporate world as a go-to C-suite Exec of multi-national corporations. After retiring at 58 he went on to author three books on real-life experience based Turnaround Management Strategies.

Corporate Turnaround (McGraw-Hill, 2001), A Requiem For A Brand (Roli Books, 2010) and Rise Like A Phoenix (Sage, 2017) are written in Pradip’s signature ‘jargon free, fireside chat’ style, explaining how idle or ‘obsolete’ assets of ‘sick companies’ can be utilized to create viable alternative businesses. These are available on Amazon, B&N etc, as well B School libraries in most countries.

The Corporate Turnaround was published at a time when “ A Chinese newspaper said more than half a trillion Yuan (US 60 Billion) in equipment was sitting idle at government owned enterprises. The value of the cobwebbed equipment was equal to six percent of China’s GDP” according to a Reuter report which appeared in The Economic Times (India) on May 1st, 2000.)

This may also have triggered the publication of a Mandarin version of Corporate Turnaround in 2003! (ISBN: 7-115-11544-3).

The Final Cut is Pradip’s first Auto-fiction written at the bidding of his wife to ‘write about us for our grandchildren’.

In The Final Cut Pradip explores how the walls of existing social norms can be breached with dignity and diplomacy as he chronicles a journey through six decades, five generations and four continents, looking at the wonders of the world and sneaking a peep into Art, Architecture, Theatre, Opera and Concerts etal-all seen through untutored but delightfully irreverent sharply observant senses.

To top it all, Pradip shows you why Age is just a number in The Final Cut. How you can hang up your boots even in your fifties and travel like college kids on Thirty Euros a day living in pensions and hostels, taking an occasional weekend break in a Ritz Carlton, an Aman or a Plaza Hotel or any one of your regulars during your CEO days.

Beware, The Final Cut may inspire you and your partner to buy a rucksack and hit the road!
