Ethem Alpaydin

Ethem ALPAYDIN is a member of the Science Academy, Istanbul, and Academia Europaea. He received his PhD from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1990, and was a postdoc at the International Computer Science Institute, Berkeley, in 1991. He was a Fulbright scholar in 1997. His books have been translated into Chinese, Croatian, Finnish, German, Japanese, Korean, and Russian. Between 1991 and 2019, he was a professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at Boğaziçi University, and between 2019 and 2026, he was a professor in the Department of Computer Science at Özyeğin University. Following his retirement from academia, he continues to conduct independent research.
