David H. Brendel

David Brendel, MD is a psychiatrist and executive coach in the Boston area. He earned his M.D. at Harvard Medical School and his Ph.D. in philosophy at the University of Chicago. David's work in psychiatry focuses on the complex relation between scientific and humanistic approaches to treatment. His book, Healing Psychiatry: Bridging the Science/Humanism Divide, was published by MIT Press. In his private practice of psychiatry, he specializes in diagnosing and treating individuals with anxiety, mood disorders (including depression and bipolar disorder), sleep disorders, and attention deficit disorder. He has deep expertise in both psychopharmacology and psychotherapy.

David is also a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) of the International Coach Federation (ICF).
