Kristoffersen is the archetypical American photographer, with a passion for the land and the people of this vast and varied country. Texan born, Kristoffersen has lived in California and Tennessee. He has traveled on the highways and the byways seeking the unique and the traditional elements, that are all representative of American life. An ardent observer and recorder of American life, his many differing bodies of photographic work range from the American Civil War, Native Americans, Cowboys, Hobos, the Midway, and majestic Tall Ships. His pictorial themes transport the viewer to moments of silent mystery - true Americana.
He came to photography later in life, after making a living as a Gun slinging Cowboy, among other less glamorous careers. He not only found his vision of the world, but indeed, his life’s calling.
Kristoffersen’s unique eye, uncanny timing and ability to reveal the “haunting splendor” within his chosen subjects, puts him among the greats of contemporary photography.
Kristoffersen is published (Nor Shall Your Glory Be Forgot, St.Martin’s Press and North and South: The Brothers War, KMW studio ) and has exhibited throughout the United States and Europe.
