Ben E. Simpson

Ben Simpson was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas in 1939. After graduating from high school, he attended Idaho State Univsersity on a boxing scholarship. He was NCAA Runner-up in his weight class and received his Degree in English Literature. He served in the military as a US Army Officer.

His first novel, START WITH THE SUN, was published by Farrar, Straus & Giroux and was listed on Child Study Association's "Best Novels of the Year" List.

A subsequent novel became a movie, THE PENITENT, staring Armande Assante and Raul Julia.

His latest writings consist of three Westerns with Luke Brandon as US Deputy Marshal.
