Avra Wing

Avra Wing is the author of the young adult novel After Isaac. Her previous novel, Angie, I Says, a New York Times notable book, was made into the feature film Angie starring Geena Davis and James Gandolfini. In 2011, her poetry collection, Recurring Dream, won the Pecan Grove Press National Poetry Chapbook competition. She has published poems in a number of magazines, including Hanging Loose, Michigan Quarterly Review, Apple Valley Review and New Madrid. Avra has been a workshop leader for the New York Writers Coalition for the past seven years, and was awarded a grant from Poets and Writers for her work. She also was an adjunct professor of literature for 10 years at Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn, New York. Avra lives in Brooklyn, where she and her husband raised three (wonderful) children.
