I’m an economist, writer and emeritus professor of political economy at Evergreen State College. Before becoming an academic, I tried out journalism and also worked as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service. Since then I’ve worked on occupational health and safety, child labor, environmental issues and economic theory. I loved teaching, and it was hard to give it up, although I wanted to have more time for writing. Future projects include books on post-capitalist pathways, the economics of interactive systems and the political economy perspective on social change.
