Hal Burton

I am a NW author with fourteen published novels. Seven of the fourteen are still in print: The 9th Urn, Cave of Secrets, Rising Sun Over Lopez, Voices from the Mountain, Ideal Conditions, and Barn Storm. Most of my novels parallel historical events, usually having taken place on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State. I have also written several short stories. My sixth novel, The Cronus Cypher, is based on the memoir of a retired Chief Petty Officer, a communication/cryptologist technician with ties to the national Security Agency.

Below is the info from the back cover of my newest novel, Against All Odds.

At the height of the Depression, a young Iowa couple seeks their fortune in the Pacific Northwest. Answering an ad promising countless opportunities, they use an inheritance to purchase land on Washington State’s Hood Canal. Setbacks they encounter are at first thought to be accidental yet soon realize local forces are in place to guarantee failure. The odds are stacked against them and unless they discover the identity of the enemy and find allies to join them in the fight, they will lose their home, their dreams and even their lives.

This novel is not yet on Kindle, but is available in print from Amazon. Currently, printed books may be ordered directly from my office: colsurf@hctc.com. Including shipping and tax the price is $18.50.
