Currently based in Dublin/Cairo (www.arabspringinmystep.com), award winning journalist and author David Lynch (34) has worked in regional, national and international press. His work has appeared in numerous publications including Magill, Village, The Blizzard Magazine, The Leinster Leader, The Sunday Business Post and Daily Ireland. He has also reported from the Middle East for RTE Radio's 'Today with Pat Kenny' and 'Morning Ireland'.
He has reported from the occupied Palestinian territories and in the wider Middle East. His second book, a work of literary reportage, "A Divided Paradise: An Irishman in the Holy Land" was awarded a coveted Starred Review in Publishers Weekly and described by 'The Irish Times' as capturing "the tension and beauty of a partitioned paradise. Lynch is studiously fair in mapping out the tragedy of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict".
His first book was a much praised account of the early political life of Irish socialist and republican martyr James Connolly.
In 2007 Lynch, won the Irish award in the 'For Diversity. Against Discrimination' EU competition for his series of articles dealing with discrimination suffered by the Irish Traveller community entitled- 'The Persistence of Prejudice'.
He has covered everything from sport, politics, the arts, courts and is a former member of the press gallery in Dáil Éireann. Currently based in Cairo, Lynch is working on both fiction and non-fiction projects.
