KATHRYN EISMAN
International bestselling author, pop culture expert and television personality Kathryn Eisman is back at it again with the U.S. release of her second book “How to Tell a Woman by her Handbag.”
The purse-sized tome humorously delves into a woman’s personality and characteristics simply by analyzing the purse she carries. For example, that woman you see at the airport with all the Louis Vuitton luggage? She has a name—Eisman’s christened her Logo Lady and “for Logo Lady, half the fun of traveling is watching people look on in envy as she nonchalantly identifies her designer bags on the luggage carousel.” Following the overwhelming success of her first book, “How to Tell a Man by his Shoes”, Eisman has toured the world sharing her insights about modern love and life with a multitude of women and has written for some of the nation’s most highly regarded publications.
In 2003, she began her career as a “Style Shrink” by lending her fashion expertise advising men in her monthly “Style Siren” column for Men’s Health Magazine. During the next 3 years, she was also a feature reporter at WNBC’s “Today in New York” morning news program.
In 2006, she became the face of Arena TV (Australia’s equivalent to Bravo) and in 2007, Cleo Magazine (Australia’s equivalent to Cosmopolitan) took notice of her work and also gave her a monthly fashion and relationship column about the thrills & spills of modern relationships. In 2009, she was voted Cosmopolitan Magazine’s “Fun Fearless Female-Author of the Year”. Since then, she’s been featured on numerous television segments on shows including: NBC’s “Today Show,” ABC’s “Good Morning America,” FOX News’ “O’Reilly Factor”, MSNBC, “Extra”, MTV’s “Best Week Ever”, and VH1’s “The Fab Life” series.
The youngest of three children, Kathryn was born in the beachside suburb of Vaucluse in Sydney, Australia. Eisman attended the prestigious University of Technology in Sydney where she majored in Journalism and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. Prior to the start of her media career, Eisman enjoyed a successful career in the fashion world, modeling in national campaigns for many of the top swimwear and lingerie brands in Australia including Tigerlily, Ken Done, Berlei and Formfit.
Currently, Eisman makes her home in West Hollywood, California and continues to be a proud ambassador for SISTER2sister, an organization that mentors ‘at risk’ teenage girls. She is also a supporter of the organization Earth Hour which strives to reduce carbon emissions and BT4BC.
